About God
God is the Creator who made the universe and us. The Westminster Shorter Catechism says that "God is a Spirit, infinite, eternal, and unchangeable, in His being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth.

About Jesus
Jesus Christ is our Lord and the world's only Savior. Through his life, death, resurrection, and ascension God offers us forgiveness and the opportunity to renew our relationship with Him now and forever. Following Jesus means learning to put God first and love our neighbors as ourselves.

About the Bible
Scripture is more than a set of guidelines or ideals, it reveals God's truth. It is the written Word of God, and our authority in faith and life. The Bible points us to Jesus Christ who is the living Word of God.

About the Church
Jesus never intended for his followers to go it alone; He calls us into community. Christ's followers are called to live out our faith within His Church. Our congregation is in the Presbyterian branch of Christianity, and specifically the PCUSA. We are guided by the PCUSA Book of Order and Book of Confessions. Being Presbyterian shapes our church, but does not limit it.

About the Sacraments
Baptism
This sacrament unites us with Jesus Christ and makes us members of God's family, the Church. Baptism is an initiation into the church community, as ordered by Christ. It is a public confession, not a private one--it's a statement of faith made in the presence of others. Baptism does not guarantee access to heaven--unbaptized people are not denied salvation. Baptism can be performed in another church and a person baptized outside of a Presbyterian Church does not need to be rebaptized. Communion This is also called the Lord's Supper, Holy Communion or the Eucharist. It's a time to renew faith and strengthen participants for the duties and privileges of Christian service. In communion, the bread and juice represent the sacrificial body and blood of Christ and recall the last meal shared with the apostles. Together they symbolize the new covenant between God and all people. |
About Ourselves
God has given all human beings worth and dignity by creating us in His image. But because of sin we fall short of who we want to be and who God desires us to be. God, however, does not abandon us. We are forgiven, redeemed and made whole by Jesus Christ, God's Son.
About Marriage
We believe marriage is symbolic of the relationship between Jesus Christ and his bride, the Church. For that reason we believe that marriage is not something to be entered into lightly but rather with humility and much prayer. We believe and stand by the Biblical model of marriage as being between one man and one woman.
About Politics
We won't tell you how to vote. Christian people do not share the same opinions on political and social issues. We do believe that biblically faithful teaching, thoughtful theological discussions and Christian maturity equip us to fulfill our calling as citizens and leaders in God's world.
